Lap Duvet

Hello Dailylike Friends!

Spring is still in the air. The soft breezes and wildflower fragrances flow through my window here in Texas and soon the heat will be upon us. For now I still find myself reaching for a cozy throw to cuddle under and knit the day the away.

My favorite kind of throw is light and fluffy and always sits on the couch ready for use. I most often find one of my dogs cuddled under one too.

The easiest lap quilt you can ever make is the Purl Soho lap duvet. Find the tutorial here. >>> https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2011/05/25/mollys-sketchbook-lap-duvet/

Its super quick and super easy. With so many pretty floral fabrics to choose from the combinations will be amazing! The trick with these whole cloth quilts is that the width is 62". This makes a really decent size throw. You can finish this in an afternoon and spend the evening curled up with a good book.

For the lap blankets I used  2 yards each of the following, Bashful , Humming Scent, Solid White, Solid Violet blue.

For the batting I used all batting, Warm & natural in the full size which I got at my local craft store. >>> http://www.joann.com/warm-and-natural-full-size/12378345.html#q=Warm+&start=8

That's it, that's all you need for 2 lovely lap duvets, soft, light and cozy as can be.

The only changes I  made to the tutorial is instead of using a bartack stitch, I tied the blankets using embroidery thread in white. This is another way of tacking together the quilt but gives the blankets a cozy homey feel.

Happy Sewing!
