Good Morning!
I hope everyone is enjoying a peaceful Sunday! I'm puttering around the house working on housework and crossing things off my short 'to do list' for today. Dh and child #2 have went downtown to a record show (Vinyl), oldest is sleeping from being out late last night & he works this afternoon & evening. The girls just ate lunch and are playing.
I intend on taking it easy today and working on some selfish sewing! Which is exactly what I did yesterday!
I received my box of goodies from Dailylike Canada the other day and have been wanting to dig in since I received my beautiful fabrics! So yesterday I did just that!

Fabrics used:

I pulled the zipper from my stash along with a pretty zipper charm that my sister made for me... I loved the little teal speckled beads with this combination of fabrics.

Lots and lots of straight line quilting...

Hexie making for good measure...

Most of this pouch was done by hand. The binding was sewn on by hand, the hexies were made by hand and then they were hand appliquéd onto the quilted pouch. I think the extra time and special attention that goes into handmade items make a lot of difference. I could have been done this pouch hours before I actually was, but I chose to do hand stitching rather than machine.

It's all in the details...

The zipper charm is perfect is it not? And this Navy Stripe is absolutely perfect!! I love it to bits!!

****

I fussy cut each hexie so I could get the images exactly where I wanted them...

I absolutely LOVE the look of the hexies when they're hand-stitched on rather than sewn on my machine. They're so puffy good!!

And finally the finished pouch... I love it! It was absolutely worth all the time I spent on it...

****

****

I saved a little hexie for the back too...

I really love the soft and subtle colours of these fabrics, they're exactly what Dailylike Canada says about their shop, they are "kind & homey", and honestly, who couldn't use more of that in their lives?

On that note, I'm off for the day... thanks for peeking in! This pouch will be listed on my FB & IG page if you're interested in giving it a new home!
