Today I wanted to share with you this quilted notebook cover made with Dailylike Canada’s beautiful fabric.
I love to make what I call “instant gratification” projects. Making a quilt is such a long process, so sometimes I need a small project to sew up to feel that wonderful creative outlet that sewing gives me. In this project, I knew I wanted to make something practical. Something I knew I would use. I scoured Pinterest looking for something to inspire me. There are many free tutorials for notebook covers out there. Each of them an inspiration. That is one amazing thing about the sewing community. It is an wonderful place to gain inspiration, while also inspiring others. Creativity isn’t creating something that is completely original to you. I took tips from different tutorials and tweaked them to fit my needs. I love the look of crosshatch quilting, so I added that to the main fabric. I also love embroidery, so I added the “notes” linen patch. I love how something so small can really make a project. In my everyday life, whenever I need to write something down I can never find a pen. So on the back I added a little zipper pocket to hold a few writing utensils. I finished it off with a magnetic snap to hold it all together. I am very happy with the outcome! I hope that something so simple as this notebook cover may provide inspiration in your future projects. I take that as the ultimate compliment. Use something you liked about this project, or leave it out if you didn’t care for it. That’s the beauty of this sewing community. Supporting each other, inspiring and also being inspired by others. Thank you so much for following along!
